Three Little Birds Told Me
We can get really good at opinion-shopping, or finding people to co-sign our selfish and self-seeking behaviours. Trust your sponsor, and stop telling 'stories'.
I agree that when we talk with many people we will sooner or later find the answer that we want to hear… and that answer that we want to hear is usually the wrong answer! However, what works for one doesn’t always work for all! Keep in mind that there are rarely any two situations the same… getting several different suggested solutions or opinions from many different perspectives can be a good way of finding out our unique answer(s) to our unique question(s). The problem we face is denial and that old habit of looking for a co-signer! Most of the time the answer you need is the one you most didn’t want to hear! As much as I learn what to do from my sponsor…I sometimes learn what not to do as well. "Don't take advice from anyone that hasn't successfully accomplished what you're trying to do" There is more than two sides on any coin... accepting it… that’s a different story David K.
I had to put 100% trust in my sponsor, since she was "God" to me. After taking the 12 steps I tapped into that Power. Today she is a good trusted friend. Deana
Hmmm... I must be confused then because I still try to remain teachable today and realise that I dont have all the answers. I still take my sponsors suggestions today. Hillary
Love this, Jane. I posted it on my wall...thank you! It's perfect.

Being able to find someone who will agree with you is easy. Listening to someone who will tell you what you don't want to hear is sponsorship. Nick G.
